A Great Time in Chilly HOTlanta
We had such an awesome time with students from First Baptist Snellville, GA this weekend at the Hilton in Atlanta. What a great group! We enjoyed times of worship and the Word, and threw in a hockey game, Hard Rock, and the Varsity as well. We love these students!
We were especially glad this weekend to have our friend Jeff Capps lead us. And we enjoyed the snow!
Bethel Baptist Church January 11-13
This weekend we had a nice time of ministry at Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown,VA. We welcomed Chad Lister with Josh, Josh and Kyle, and Doc of course. And, if you see the shadow, that would be Josh Harrison who also helped with sound and pictures. We had a blast and are grateful to have been with the youth at Bethel!
New Year, New Things…
Hi all, Doc Reid here. This spring offers a truckload of ministry for the guys who travel with me in the band Finding Madison, from Florida to Virginia, from Alabama to Georgia, and many places in between.
The new year brings some changes. Rhett, who led worship for the band throughout the fall of 07, has made the wise decision to focus on his young family and school. That means he won’t be able to travel with us as he did. While we miss Rhett, this is the right decision. I know many times I have said no to various opportunities for the sake of my family. I have never regretted that.
Over the years I have been so blessed to travel with many to serve with me in ministry. Several years back a group of SEBTS students called Joy Made Full journeyed with me, culminating in a wonderful trip for some of us to South Africa. The past several years as Josh was in high school One Way Up became a vital part of my ministry. As high school shifted to college it was time to move on, and part of that included me firing myself as bass player
. The band Finding Madison now refers to the group who travels with me. The core of the band continues to be Josh, Josh Hicks, and Kyle Webb. I am also happy that some other folks with whom I have shared some great days of ministry will at times be traveling with me as well. More about them on the “About the Band” page, but right now this includes the following:
Chad Lister, who was in the band One Way Up all through High School
Jessica Ray, who has traveled with me off and on for a few years now and is a great delight
Jeff Capps, a Southeastern College grad who is now married and lives in Dallas, Texas. I am thrilled to be serving the Most High God in ministry with all these folks. And there will be more no doubt, as SECWF student Tyler Mount has also been a part of us and no doubt will join us in the future.
God is good all the time. Okay, that is a cliche. But it is also true. So thanks for the prayers, the emails, all the love we share with so many we meet. Blessings to all!
